Wondershare PDF Converter Pro joins together all the functionality of Wondershare’s PDF Converter with its new OCR capabilities. Thus, it not only transforms your PDF files into MS Office, EPUB, TXT, or into various image file formats, but it is also capable of using any scanned file as source using Optical Character Recognition.

The inclusion of OCR capabilities in this Pro version of the program greatly widens your choice of source files. Thus, PDF is no longer the only source format supported, but actually any document that you can print and put on your scanner’s bed. The results, however, are mixed. They largely depend on the quality of the printed document, of your scanner, and on the language used in the document (as all languages behave the same way when it comes to recognizing their character patterns). The output options, however, remain unchanged – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, plain text, EPUB, and some of the most widely used image file formats, such as JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, and TIFF.

The conversion settings available are flexible enough – you can make use of its batch capabilities to convert large numbers of files in just one go, and you are also given the possibility of selecting (on a file-by-file basis) which pages or page-ranges will be converted. Conversion of encrypted PDF files is also supported, as long as you know the password.

The resulting files are usually of a high level of quality, trying to preserve the original layout as much as possible, and as much as the output format selected allows.
